Accounting Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Accounting Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in full-cycle bookkeeping, financial statements, and management reporting.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform day-to-day record keeping for management reporting and analytical purposes
  • Manage accounts receivable, accounts payable, and invoicing
  • Assist in client planning, budgeting, and forecasting
  • Prepare monthly/quarterly/annual financial statements, journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting
  • Act as an expert on internal processes, documenting what is learned and assisting in controls and improvements
  • Work directly with clients to obtain documentation and track progress, meeting all milestones
  • Maintain confidentiality and professional communication at all times
  • Complete administrative tasks to support the firm or team members
  • Solve problems as they arise and escalate when necessary
Requirements:
  • Graduate of Accounting, Finance, Business, or Bookkeeping related field
  • Minimum 3 years experience in accounting
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Familiarity with full cycle bookkeeping
  • Ability to learn new systems and software (QuickBooks Online, Receipt Bank, Yardi, etc.)
  • Knowledge of CRA requirements and filings (HST, WSIB, EHT)
  • Experience with cloud-based bookkeeping software (QBO, XERO, etc.) preferred
  • Strong interpersonal skills and team-player attitude
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Adaptable and able to multitask and prioritize
  • Ability to work independently with high attention to detail
  • Motivated self-starter eager to take responsibility
  • Commitment to continuous learning and improvement
  • Ability to meet commitments and set clear objectives
  • Strong time management and problem-solving skills
  • Experience working graveyard shifts required
  • Own a laptop/desktop meeting minimum specs: Processor: Core i5 or higher, RAM: 8GB or higher, Internet Speed: at least 6 Mbps download and upload
  • A quiet, private workspace at home
