Job Overview

The In-Field Mentor role supports newly assigned missionaries in their initial field training period. Mentors train remotely using established curriculum principles and resources to facilitate real-world learning experiences, operating within the designated division.

Key Responsibilities
  • Reports to a senior trainer or supervisor.
  • Provides one-on-one coaching, facilitates small group sessions, and conducts regular follow-ups to support missionaries' growth and development.
  • Plans and prepares training sessions following an approved curriculum to meet each missionary's unique needs.
  • Directs missionaries in planning and accounting for their learning, ensuring continued growth and understanding of divisional best practices and training curriculum.
  • Attends weekly training meetings and conducts one-on-ones with the mentor trainer.
  • Reports on mission progress and assigns tasks to leadership, ensuring well-being of each missionary.
Required Qualifications
  • Must be a returned missionary of less than 3 years or currently teaching at a missionary training center unless exceptional language need is identified.
  • Ability to communicate (verbal and written) at a high proficiency level in English.
  • High school diploma or equivalent qualification.
  • Outstanding coaching, facilitation, and training skills and abilities.
  • Knowledge and understanding of established training principles.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Returned missionary of 2 years or less.
  • MTC classroom teaching or tutoring experience.
  • Experience with online interactions including chat, video conference, etc.
  • Fluency in a second language.
