Financial Manager Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Financial Manager to oversee the financial aspects of our organization.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and analyze comprehensive financial reports (profit and loss, balance sheet, cash flow).
  • Ensure timely submission of Business Activity Statements (BAS), Instalment Activity Statement (IAS) and Goods and Services Tax (GST) reports in accordance with Australian Taxation Office (ATO) regulations.
  • Assist in the preparation of income tax returns for businesses and individuals.
  • Reconcile accounts payable and receivable, ensuring accuracy and transparency.
  • Maintain knowledge of Australian tax laws and accounting standards (Australian Accounting Standards Board, AASB; International Financial Reporting Standards, IFRS).
  • Liaise effectively with auditors, tax authorities, and external stakeholders.
  • Implement and improve financial processes and internal controls for efficiency and compliance.
Requirements:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of Australian accounting experience.
Technical Skills:
  • Strong knowledge of Australian tax laws, BAS/GST, and ATO compliance.
  • Proficiency in accounting software such as Xero, MYOB, QuickBooks, or similar.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (MS Word, Outlook, and Excel) is essential.
Soft Skills:
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
