Quality Analyst, Coding Role Overview

The Quality Analyst, Coding plays a pivotal role in the development of enhanced capabilities within the areas of documentation, coding, and compliance.

This individual collaborates with internal stakeholders to assess and review the overall quality of coding on accounts completed by Medical Coders. Ensuring adherence to established workflows and ethical coding practices is a key responsibility.

The position demands advanced knowledge of professional coding, specifically CPT, ICD-10-CM, and HCPCS.

Key duties include:

  • Leading a team of employees and providing guidance to ensure objectives are met
  • Administering the Quality Assessment process to guarantee all quality standards can be met
  • Managing operational processes to ensure quality, efficiency, and productivity standards are met
  • Reviewing and analyzing reports, records, and data to meet client and company objectives

Responsibilities also involve:

  • Collaborating with workgroups to resolve issues impacting internal and external customers
  • Documenting employee performance and targets, ensuring they exceed expectations
  • Monitoring systems to ensure optimal performance
  • Disseminating changes in guidelines and rules to assure compliance

Additionally, this role entails:

  • Fostering an environment of teamwork and service excellence within the department
  • Participating in performance improvement activities
  • Assisting in the establishment and maintenance of a formalized review process for compliance with contractual agreements

The successful candidate will possess:

  • Advanced knowledge of CPT, ICD-10-CM, and HCPCS coding
  • Strong verbal, written communication, interpersonal, and analytical skills
  • Ability to work independently and function in a team environment
  • Flexibility to work extended hours and adjust to changing job responsibilities
Requirements

Graduate of a medical or allied medical course or equivalent work experience

AAPC and/or AHIMA certification

Proficient in E/M and CPT procedure coding

Minimum six months experience in quality management medical coding

Working Conditions

This is a remote work opportunity with a dayshift schedule. The noise level in the work environment is usually minimal.
