Financial Accountant Job Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled professional to fill the role of Financial Accountant.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations to ensure accuracy and integrity of financial records.
  • Complete month-end journals (accruals, prepayments, amortization) in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Reconcile sales from Abacus to Xero, identifying and resolving any discrepancies.
  • Review and post depreciation for Fixed Asset Register (FAR), ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Deliver monthly management accounting reports to stakeholders, providing valuable insights into financial performance.
  • Calculate interest payments accurately and efficiently.
Additional Duties:
  • Monitor Accounts Receivable weekly, taking prompt action to resolve any issues.
  • Handle bank reconciliations and supplier payment runs, maintaining accurate records and meeting deadlines.
  • Process fortnightly payroll, ensuring timely and accurate payment to employees.
Tax Compliance and Regulatory Requirements:
  • Collate and submit tax information (Income Tax, GST, FBT, PAYG) in accordance with regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare annual financial statements, providing a comprehensive overview of financial performance.
  • Liaise with external tax accountants to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
Qualifications and Skills:
  • CA or CPA qualified, or actively working towards certification.
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant accounting experience, with a strong understanding of financial principles and practices.
  • Advanced proficiency in Xero, with the ability to utilize its features effectively.
  • Strong knowledge of Australian tax regulations and payroll compliance, with the ability to apply this knowledge in practice.
  • Excellent analytical, reconciliation, and reporting skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and present findings in a clear and concise manner.
  • High attention to detail and systems thinking, with the ability to identify and resolve problems promptly.
