Job Title: Publishing Assistant

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated publishing assistant to join our team. As a publishing assistant, you will play a crucial role in bringing creative ideas to life and ensuring the smooth development and promotion of our titles.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in managing the development of children's books from concept to publication.
  • Coordinate with illustrators, ghostwriters, and other freelancers.
  • Monitor project timelines and ensure deadlines are met.

Content Support:

  • Review and provide feedback on drafts.
  • Organize and maintain book-related files and documentation.

Marketing & Advertising Assistance:

  • Support promotional efforts including basic advertising, content preparation for listings, and outreach.
  • Help strategize and execute marketing campaigns across online platforms.

Publishing Support:

  • Research best practices for self-publishing platforms (e.g., Amazon KDP).
  • Assist in formatting and preparing manuscripts for publication.
  • Keep track of royalties, sales, and promotional results as needed.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 1 year experience in publishing, editorial support, or project coordination in a creative field (children's publishing is a plus).
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Experience collaborating with creatives such as illustrators and writers.
  • A self-starter with a proactive and problem-solving mindset.
  • Comfortable working independently in a startup environment.

Nice-to-Have:

  • Knowledge of publishing platforms like KDP or IngramSpark.
