As a Publishing Assistant, you will serve as the founder's right-hand collaborator, helping bring creative ideas to life and ensure the smooth development and promotion of our titles. You will coordinate book creation, collaborate with illustrators and ghostwriters, and support the marketing and publishing process.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Coordination:


• Assist in managing the development of children's books from concept to publication


• Coordinate with illustrators, ghostwriters, and other freelancers


• Monitor project timelines and ensure deadlines are met

Content Support:


• Review and provide feedback on drafts


• Organize and maintain book-related files and documentation


• Marketing & Advertising Assistance:


• Support promotional efforts including basic advertising, content preparation for listings, and outreach


• Help strategize and execute marketing campaigns across online platforms

Publishing Support:


• Research best practices for self-publishing platforms (e.g., Amazon KDP)


• Assist in formatting and preparing manuscripts for publication


• Keep track of royalties, sales, and promotional results as needed


•Must have at least 1 year experience in publishing, editorial support, or project coordination in a creative field (children's publishing is a plus)


• Strong organizational and communication skills


• Experience collaborating with creatives such as illustrators and writers


• Self-starter with a proactive and problem-solving mindset


• Comfortable working independently in a startup environment


• Familiarity with children's book content and trends is a plus

Nice-to-Have


• Knowledge of publishing platforms like KDP or IngramSpark


• Experience with graphic design tools or basic book formatting


• Background in marketing or social media promotion for creative products

Monday to Friday 9:00 am to 7:00 pm PST // Remote
