Optimizing facility performance and reliability is a critical task that requires a skilled professional to ensure the smooth operation of machines and equipment. A Facilities Technician plays a vital role in this process by executing maintenance activities, monitoring utility consumption, and providing essential support to production operations.

The Opportunity

This position involves executing maintenance programs, including building, sustaining, and preventive maintenance activities as scheduled. The technician will conduct inspections, monitoring, and evaluations to ensure effective utilization and efficiency of all facilities machines and equipment with minimal breakdowns.

  • Initiate and perform Building Maintenance, Sustaining Maintenance, and Preventive Maintenance activities as scheduled.
  • Conduct inspections, monitoring, and evaluations to ensure effective utilization and efficiency of all facilities machines and equipment with minimal breakdowns.

Moreover, the technician will be responsible for driving cost reduction initiatives related to utilities such as power, water, and air. This includes addressing and fixing discrepancies in plant consumption and recommending improvements for usage, handling, installation, and function to achieve departmental goals.

The technician will also provide continuous support to production by ensuring machines and equipment are in good condition, reliable, and meet or exceed quality expectations for internal and external customers.

Furthermore, the technician will perform troubleshooting and repair of minor or major machine failures and breakdowns, aiming for the shortest possible resolution time. Additionally, they will mentor and guide new technicians and trainees regarding the operation and maintenance of all existing facilities machines and equipment.

Other responsibilities include monitoring and evaluating parameters set by machine/equipment manufacturers against actual readings on monitoring sheets to determine operating conditions and identify abnormalities.

Lastly, the technician will maintain records and coordinate with concerned departments regarding scheduled work, repairs, troubleshooting, and other facilities-related works.


Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you should have an Electrical/Mechanical Technology/Engineering degree or equivalent. At least 2-5 years of experience as a Facilities Technician, preferably in a semiconductor environment, is required. Proficiency in computer use and office software is also necessary.
