Sr Product Compliance Engineer Job Description

This role is responsible for ensuring that products meet international safety standards and regulatory requirements. The Sr Product Compliance Engineer will evaluate product designs, develop test plans, and interface with certification agencies to obtain necessary certifications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate products against international safety regulations and product specifications.
  • Develop and execute test plans in collaboration with test personnel.
  • Interface with certification agencies to obtain necessary certifications.
  • Collaborate with program management to ensure internal qualification and certification targets are met.
  • Work with design engineering teams to address technical concerns related to product safety.
  • Collaborate with factory quality groups to address product safety inspection concerns during mass production.
  • Participate in the maintenance of self-test programs by third-party certifiers.
  • Contribute to the department's quality system and control efforts to achieve zero customer complaints.
  • Review product safety impact on design changes and process re-qualification and re-certifications as needed.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science.
  • At least 5 years of experience in electrical/electronics manufacturing industry.
  • Hands-on experience with electrical testing equipment (e.g., oscilloscope, multimeters, dataloggers).
  • Understanding of switching power supply operation with good trouble-shooting skills.
  • Knowledgeable with relevant industry standards (e.g., IEC60950-1, IEC62368-1, ISO17025).
