Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Engineer to join our team. As a key member of the data warehouse technical stack, you will be responsible for delivering and supporting data integrations from internal and external sources into our data warehouse. This involves ensuring accurate data delivery to systems, building new data integrations (ETL components), and making changes to existing software.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of various business process and system modelling tools, including Data Flow Diagrams, Process Models, ER diagrams, Dimensional Data Models, and Use Case Scenarios. They will also have experience with developing Matillion ETL scripts and ETL orchestrations, as well as ensuring that the team follows best practices of ETL development.

Additionally, the successful candidate will leverage monitoring tools to track the status of ETL Pipelines for performance and completion, develop complex SQL queries and stored procedures to extract and insert data into and from the Datawarehouse, and engage with Business Analyst & Technical Architects to clarify business requirements and offer recommendations for improvements.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • 2+ years of IT experience required in working with ETL in an enterprise environment
  • Knowledge in ETL Design methodologies including best practices, performance tuning, architecture, monitoring and alerting
  • Knowledge of at least one ETL tool (SSIS, Informatica, Matillion, Talend, etc.)
  • Experience with relational and dimensional data modelling and ability to represent data using standard modelling techniques
  • Proficient with SQL and stored procedures
  • Experience in working with at least one of these warehouse technologies such as SQL, Snowflake, AWS Redshift
  • Ability to deliver work to schedule (self-manage workload and priorities)
