Job Title: Bookkeeper for Real Estate Properties

Maintaining accurate financial records for multiple properties is a key responsibility of this role. The ideal candidate will have experience in real estate accounting and proficiency in AppFolio software.

Responsibilities:
  • Maintain accurate financial records using AppFolio, including accounts payable, receivable, bank reconciliations, and owner statements.
  • Process vendor bills, tenant payments, and reconcile trust accounts and credit card statements monthly.
  • Prepare financial reports, draw schedules, and ensure compliance with GAAP and real estate-specific accounting standards.
  • Collaborate with property managers to resolve discrepancies and support audits.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (preferred).
  • CPA or Bookkeeping Certification (a plus).
Experience:
  • Minimum 3 years of bookkeeping experience, preferably in real estate.
  • Proven expertise in AppFolio software (required).
  • Experience managing financials for multiple properties or portfolios.
Skills & Tools:
  • Advanced proficiency in AppFolio, QuickBooks, and Excel.
  • Strong understanding of real estate accounting principles.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
Preferred Traits:
  • Familiarity with U.S. property management practices.
  • Experience with trust account reconciliation and owner draw processes.
  • Comfortable working in a remote, fast-paced environment.
