A Patient Services Representative plays a vital role in addressing patient queries and concerns. Their key responsibilities involve understanding the needs of patients through effective communication and ensuring those needs are met by coordinating information from various sources, including consumers, family members, medical personnel, and administrative staff.
Responsibilities:- Answer incoming calls in accordance with established procedures and departmental standards.
- Provide assistance to patients regarding their queries and concerns.
- Collect outstanding balances from patients.
- Facilitate communication with third-party entities, such as insurance companies, regarding patients' accounts.
- Place outbound collection calls in compliance with procedure and departmental standards.
- Assist patients with billing-related inquiries and concerns.
- Maintain confidentiality by adhering to HIPAA guidelines when handling protected health information.
- Demonstrate teamwork and support department and company goals and policies.
- Ensure punctuality and reliability by maintaining an excellent attendance record.
- Preferably a college graduate or at least 2 years of college-level education.
- Education and courses related to the medical field are highly valued.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Capacity to handle confidential information.
- Basic mathematical calculation skills.
- Attention to detail.
- Proficiency in email usage.
- Highly motivated and proactive attitude.
- Organized, able to prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
- Dependable and reliable individual.

- At least 1 year of call center experience in medical accounts and programs is advantageous.
