Protecting the Open Source Community: A Senior Security Engineer Role

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Security Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our security engineering team, you will play a crucial role in protecting the open source community and Ubuntu users from emerging threats.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor, triage, respond to, and document new and existing vulnerabilities in open source software
- Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to identify issues, prioritize them, and coordinate remediation
- Produce security assessments, build features, conduct code reviews, develop internal tools, engage with the open source community, and participate in industry initiatives and events
Requirements:
- Thorough understanding of common categories of security vulnerabilities and techniques for fixing them
- Familiarity with coordinated disclosure practices
- Experience with Linux (Debian or Ubuntu preferred)
- Excellent interpersonal skills, curiosity, flexibility, and accountability
- Thoughtfulness and self-motivation
- Result-oriented, with a personal drive to meet commitments
