Financial Operations Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Staff Accountant to support our financial operations.
The ideal candidate will possess excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to maintain accurate financial records, process transactions timely, and provide accounting support for an e-commerce business.
About the Role- Record all daily financial transactions with precision and timeliness in compliance with Australian accounting standards and taxation regulations
- Store and organize data for compliance and audit purposes
- Manage accounts payable and receivable, including daily and weekly reconciliations and aging monitoring
- Process vendor invoices and customer payments promptly
- Assist in month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded
- Conduct bank, credit card, supplier, and balance sheet reconciliations to ensure accuracy of financial records
- Collaborate on external audits and prepare schedules and documentation as requested by management
- Support financial report preparation as needed
- Work with Operations and Category Management for inventory invoice entries aligned with purchase orders and credit applications
- Prepare payroll for employees and coordinate invoicing for remote contractors to ensure timely payments
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) qualification preferred
- Minimum 3 years of experience in accounting, preferably in e-commerce or retail
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
- Strong understanding of Australian accounting principles and tax regulations
- Experience in complex reconciliation processes and ability to resolve discrepancies
- Excellent attention to detail and high accuracy
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively to meet deadlines
