Financial Operations Specialist

The Financial Operations Specialist plays a vital role in maintaining accurate financial records, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements.

  • Maintain and update general ledgers, ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded.
  • Assist with preparation of ad hoc & monthly reporting.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards (e.g., GAAP or IFRS) and company policies.
  • Assist with treatment of prepayments, accruals & capitalization.
Accounts Payable & Receivable
  • Verify Payables entries to the correct subsidiary, department, and location.
  • Report on Payables & Receivables, assist both the AP & AR departments in reporting, complete with days outstanding calculations.
Reconciliations & Analysis
  • Perform monthly bank reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
  • Reconcile subsidiary ledgers to the general ledger.
  • Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for cost control.
  • Project (costs) Accounting.
  • Manage the AP Team's credit card processing & refinements.
Compliance & Audit Support
  • Prepare documentation and schedules for internal and external audits.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records for regulatory reporting.
Other Duties
  • Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes.
  • Perform ad-hoc financial analysis and reporting requested by management.
  • Assist with company policies implementation and monitoring.

Qualifications include: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification is preferred. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in general accounting or a related field, knowledge of accounting principles, standards, and regulations, proficiency in Australian standards, and proficiency in accounting software and MS Excel.
