Job Title: Channel Development Assistant Manager

Job Summary

To play a key role in driving company sales targets and channel growth through the development and implementation of effective BTL strategies aligned with brand guidelines, customer, and shopper expectations.


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and Recommend Multi-Channel Strategies: Collaborate with stakeholders to design and implement channel strategies that meet company and brand development objectives.
  • Focused Trade Strategies: Develop tailored trade strategies for specific accounts and channels, ensuring alignment with brand positioning and account/channel potential.
  • Category Analysis and Data Analytics: Utilize available data to identify distribution gaps and channel development opportunities within assigned categories/brand portfolios.
  • Trade Dynamics and Retail Industry Updates: Stay informed about changing trade dynamics and retail industry developments to recommend effective channel and sales strategies that provide a competitive edge.
  • Competitive Activity Feedback Report: Design and monitor a report to track the frequency and types of promotions in various trade sectors, documenting activities for analysis, reporting, and future referencing purposes.
  • Account Profitability Tracking: Analyze and evaluate accounts' profitability, identifying customers who do not meet company guidelines and recommending actions to improve performance.
  • Evaluation of Trade Promotions: Monitor and assess the effectiveness of trade promotions and in-store promotions to determine whether they meet company objectives.
  • Marketing Coordination: Collaborate with Marketing to ensure effective implementation of promotions, pack/price changes, new products, etc. by the sales force.
  • Price Surveys and Trend Analysis: Design and implement price surveys on selected brands to track trends over time, informing pricing strategies based on collected data.
  • New Product Launches and Distribution Tracking: Identify new product launches, track distribution, and monitor secondary displays, planograms, etc.
  • Merchandising and Brand Ambassador Pre-Deployment Activities: Lead pre-deployment activity guidelines for merchandising/brand ambassadors.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Coordinate with cross-functional departments to gain information and insights, aligning results with corporate and functional objectives.
  • Market Visits: Conduct market visits to gather insights and stay updated on market developments.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor's/College Degree, Post Graduate Diploma/Master's Degree in Business Studies/Administration/Management, Marketing, or equivalent.
  • Experience: At least five relevant years in sales, trade, and category experience in the FMCG market.
  • Skills: Proven track record in category and space management skills, strong analytical skills, excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word), and experience with data analysis tools.
  • Trait: A good team player.
