Accounting Manager Position

We are seeking a highly skilled accounting professional to fill this role. As the right-hand to the controller, this position requires someone who can operate comfortably at both strategic and tactical levels.

The ideal candidate is a problem-solver with strong accounting expertise and business acumen. They will thrive in a fast-paced environment and take full ownership of their responsibilities with a mindset of continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform month-end closing duties, including leading the close process and analyzing general ledger accounts for significant variances.
  • Prepare internal financial reports, support management with variance analysis, and contribute to the ongoing improvement of internal financial reporting packages.
  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts, ensure resolution of discrepancies, and maintain the integrity of financial data.
  • Ensure timely and accurate preparation and filing of all required tax forms, work with external tax advisors, and manage federal, state, and local tax filings.
  • Prepare audit schedules and supporting documentation for external audits, ensure compliance with company policies, U.S. GAAP, and other relevant regulations.
  • Identify and lead initiatives to streamline and automate accounting processes, collaborate with internal stakeholders to improve workflows and reporting capabilities, and assist with ERP system optimization and accounting procedures documentation.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
  • CPA certification or active progress toward CPA is a plus.
  • 4+ years of accounting experience, hands-on experience with month-end close, financial reporting, and account reconciliations.
  • Deep understanding of U.S. GAAP and financial controls, experience in both public accounting and corporate accounting environments is preferred but not required.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems, advanced Excel skills, and strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills, demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across departments, and strong focus on accuracy in financial reporting and reconciliations.
