Job Overview

  • Procure requested items on board by coordinating with category leads.
  • Carefully manage the purchase flow to ensure desired results, including processing requisitions.
  • Daily coordination with vessels to ensure prompt information and address queries/complaints.
  • Continuously improve service quality and productivity levels, sharing best practices across teams.
  • Coordinate with vessel, agents, and local ship chandlers for smooth delivery of orders.
  • Resolve issues regarding supply as raised directly by the vessel.
  • Provide feedback to Captain and Superintendent regarding local ship chandler for budget control.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Analyze requisitions based on stakeholder requirements.
  • Comply with available frame agreements prices pre-selected by the vessel.
  • Issue Purchase Orders (POs) with required details upon approval.
  • Ensure supplier issues Order confirmation.
  • FOLLOW UP ON DELIVERY TWO DAYS BEFORE OF ETB.
  • Buyer performs day-to-day purchasing activities to ensure safe and timely delivery of requisitions ordered by the vessel, considering criticality of items.
  • Respond to requisitions raised by vessels in Oracle Supply Chain module.
  • Communicate with Category leads regarding prices and deliveries.
  • Achieve goal of cost-efficient, safe, and timely operations of vessels in accordance with company policy and procedures.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree is required.
  • Minimum 1-3 years of relevant work experience in procurement, preferably in shipping industry.
  • Must be IT literate to work with advanced procurement systems.
  • Good interpersonal and stakeholder management skills, with ability to communicate at all levels.
  • High stress level, comfortable handling numerous tasks within limited timeframes in a structured manner with an eye for detail.
  • Strong-minded individual with robust personality.
  • Must possess good analysis and problem-solving skills, listening and communicating skills, collaboration, inclusion, teamwork, planning, organizing, initiative, and accountability skills.
  • Fluent in English, both verbal and written.
