Remote Payroll Specialist Opportunity

We are seeking a detail-focused and experienced Payroll Specialist to join our finance team on a part-time basis.

  • This role is responsible for accurate, compliant, and timely payroll processing, including managing end-to-end payroll processing on a fortnightly and monthly basis.
  • The ideal candidate will have up-to-date knowledge of employment laws and regulations and be proficient in using Employment Hero to maintain accurate employee data.
  • You will also be required to submit TFN declarations and other payroll compliance documentation to the relevant authorities and process termination payments in line with contracts or Awards.
  • Additionally, you will reconcile and report on leave entitlements, follow up on employee expenses and timesheet approvals, and respond to staff payroll queries clearly and promptly.
  • You will work closely with the Finance team to assist with month-end and EOFY reconciliations for wages, PAYG, and superannuation.

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess strong attention to detail and high accuracy in data entry, as well as excellent communication skills and the ability to handle confidential information with discretion.

Requirements
  • A minimum 3 years of experience in a payroll role within a medium to large organisation.
  • Proficiency in using Employment Hero and advanced Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet tight deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to handle confidential information.
