Job Title: Senior Payroll Associate, Australian Payroll
About the RoleThe Senior Payroll Associate plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of payroll processing activities. As an experienced individual contributor, this position requires deep technical knowledge of payroll systems and regulations.
This role involves taking ownership of payroll processing activities while providing guidance to junior team members. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process Australia Payroll transactions accurately and efficiently
- Oversee the processing of payroll data for employees, including salaries, hours worked, and deductions
- Maintain accurate employee records, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations
- Verify and reconcile employee data, identifying and resolving any discrepancies or errors
- Assist with payroll tax calculations and filings, ensuring timely and accurate submissions
- Provide support to employees for payroll-related questions and issues, offering clear and concise guidance
- Ensure compliance with payroll laws and regulations, staying up-to-date on changes and updates
- Lead the implementation of new payroll processes and systems, driving process improvements and efficiency gains
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, or a related field from an accredited institution
- At least 3 years of experience in payroll or a related field, with a strong understanding of payroll systems and regulations
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues and stakeholders
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel/Google Sheets, with experience in data analysis and reporting
- Ability to lead and mentor junior team members, promoting a culture of excellence and continuous improvement
