The Intercompany Accountant is responsible for delivering timely and quality service to internal Dover customers, as measured by service level agreements and key performance indicators. The role handles end-to-end intercompany accounting processes, including reviewing and verifying transactions, preparing reports, resolving out-of-balance items, and supporting period-close activities to ensure accurate, complete, and timely financial reporting. The Intercompany Accountant performs account reconciliations, participates in continuous improvement efforts, and partners with the Senior Intercompany Accountant, Intercompany Lead, and Manager to implement strategic priorities.
Responsibilities- Execute accounting and daily operations for the Intercompany Accounting process area.
- Close financial periods timely per the closing calendar and in accordance with SLA commitments.
- Ensure completeness, accuracy, and validity of actuals reported within the process/entity scope.
- Focus on Balance Sheet reconciliations (Intercompany AR and AP) to minimize open items.
- Monitor, review, and resolve intercompany receivables and payables; coordinate with Intercompany partners.
- Perform journal entries, prepare accruals for recurring transactions, and ensure timely expense recognition.
- Participate in netting processes.
- Coordinate and engage with key stakeholders across the shared services group.
- Identify process improvement opportunities and support project implementations.
- Support process streamlining and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Provide audit support, both internal and external.
- Minimum of a Bachelor's degree or equivalent in accounting, finance, or a related business discipline; CPA preferred.
- Experience in Intercompany Accounting or general accounting.
- Strong background in general ledger; capable of performing journal entries and reconciliations in high volumes.
- Experience with major ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle); Oracle preferred.
- 2–3 years of prior experience in a shared services or BPO setup preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel (basic to advanced formulas, pivoting; macros are a plus).
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and related applications (including SharePoint).
- Continuous improvement mindset; Lean Six Sigma training a plus.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with employees at all levels.
- Openness to new ideas, rapid change, and new technologies.
- Ability to analyze data critically and determine validity.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment with attention to detail and meeting deadlines.
- Customer-focused attitude with professional demeanor.
- Self-directed, ethical, and able to work with minimal supervision.
