Overview

The Junior Accountant is responsible for assisting in the day-to-day financial and accounting operations of the organization. This role involves tasks related to accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, financial reporting, and supporting Senior Accountant in various financial activities.

Responsibilities
  • Preparation of weekly payables: Validating supplier SOA or supporting documents related to the bills; collecting recurring Bills to different portals (PLDT, Globe, Crayon, RFP, etc); encoding all validated payables to Xero and Sharepoint Payables; encoding approved bills to Unionbank for disbursement; sending POP to vendors; marking as paid bills in Xero.
  • Preparation of client invoices: Checking and uploading client contracts to Accounting folder; updating clients' contact to Xero; sending approved invoices to clients; making computation for OR preparation; following up BIR Form 2307; uploading proof of payment to Xero and marking as paid.
  • Preparation of computation for Government BIR filings: Expanded Withholding Tax; Compensation Withholding Tax; Quarterly Value Added Tax; uploading OR and 2307 to VAT monitoring list SharePoint; combining all input and output VAT and sending to Nationwide.
  • Monthly Bank Reconciliation: Downloading bank monthly statements to UB; importing templates to Xero; exporting Excel sheets to Xero and validating to dashboard; generating SPA from PhilHealth EPRS; generating PIF from Pag-IBIG Employers' Portal; generating PRN from SSS Employers' portal.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in accountancy
  • CPA is a plus but not required
  • 1-2 years' experience in general accounting
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in financial record-keeping
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and collaborate with others
  • Eagerness to learn and adapt to new accounting tools and technologies
  • Highly organized with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
  • Relevant internship or work experience in accounting is a plus
