
Payables Assistant

Be a key member in safeguarding financial business operations. Provide and implement the best administrative systems and process solutions to maintain day-to-day financial and administrative disbursement services. We're looking for meticulous and innovative people who can strengthen MEC's back room so that we can continue to give the best products and service to customers.
Job Responsibilities:
- Ensure that all scheduled payables and approved disbursements are validated and processed accurately, completely, and on time.
- Assist in the maintenance and safeguarding of payment transactions and all documentary requirements to ensure confidentiality and safekeeping of traceability, historical, and legal records.
- Prepare payments such as check printing or online bank transfers.
- Coordinate with concerned teams or departments regarding payments or issues.
- Monitor upcoming payments or outstanding payables to prevent overdue payments.
- Verify invoices against purchase orders and ensure goods or services were received before issuing payment to suppliers.
- Clarify any questionable invoice items, prices, or receiving signatures.
- Provide other clerical support necessary to pay or settle other obligations of the company.
- Maintain copies of vouchers, invoices, or correspondence necessary for files.
- Identify ways to make the process more efficient or effective.
- Assist in all other tasks assigned to the Finance: Payables Team.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Management, or any business-related courses.
- At least 2 years of work experience in Accounting or Finance; experience in a Payables role is preferred.
- Strong business acumen.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Knowledge of basic accounting concepts.
- Strong and clear communication skills — oral and written.
- Strong drive for excellence.
- Willing to report to the office in Cubao, Quezon City.
- Amenable to work from Mondays to Fridays, 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
