About the Role

We are looking for a highly skilled and strategic Transportation Head to oversee and optimize our logistics and fleet operations. This role is critical in ensuring timely, cost-effective, and efficient delivery of goods while maintaining compliance, safety, and service excellence.

What You'll Do

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement strategic transportation plans to improve delivery efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Manage day-to-day transportation operations including routing, scheduling, dispatching, and fleet management.
  • Monitor KPIs (on-time delivery, cost per mile, fuel usage, etc.) and implement improvements.
  • Coordinate with warehouse, logistics, procurement, and customer service teams to ensure smooth operations.
  • Select, negotiate, and manage contracts with external carriers or third-party logistics providers (3PLs).
  • Ensure compliance with local, national, and international transport regulations (safety, environmental, customs).
  • Lead, train, and evaluate transportation staff and drivers.
  • Oversee maintenance and inspection of company vehicles to ensure safety and regulatory compliance.
  • Use transportation management systems (TMS) and other logistics tools to track shipments and optimize operations.
  • Prepare and manage transportation budgets and forecasts.
What We're Looking For

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field (Master's degree is a plus).
  • At least 3-5 years of progressive experience in transportation, logistics, or supply chain management, with at least 2 years in a supervisory/managerial role.
  • Strong knowledge of transportation regulations, compliance, and best practices.
  • Proven experience in fleet management and route optimization.
  • Excellent leadership and people management skills with the ability to motivate and develop teams.
  • Strong negotiation and vendor management skills, particularly with carriers and 3PL providers.
  • Proficient in transportation management systems (TMS), fleet tracking software, and MS Office tools.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and multitasking skills.
  • Willingness to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
