Your Role

The Customs Systems Trainer will be responsible for creating and implementing a systems training plan for the Customs BU. This individual will enhance the skills and knowledge of employees on Cargowise and JSM/JIRA, playing a key role in onboarding new employees and overseeing continuous training and development within the department.

Your Responsibilities
  • Design and develop training materials
  • Conduct training sessions for new hires
  • Coordinate with team leaders and stakeholders to ensure effective training methods based on the topic and audience
  • Maintain and update a training matrix
  • Identify training needs by evaluating team strengths and weaknesses
  • Evaluate training effectiveness and implement improvements
  • Provide train-the-trainer sessions for selected individuals
  • Manage the implementation of new processes or major changes, especially where increased personnel are involved
  • Revise and update training content to reflect changes in work environment or system updates
  • Utilize e-learning techniques and participate in creating/delivering e-learning courses as relevant
  • Quickly understand new concepts and convert knowledge into effective training programs and materials
  • Conduct orientation sessions for new hires
  • Select appropriate training methods such as simulations, mentoring, on-the-job training, or professional development classes
Your Skills and Experiences
  • Bachelor of Science in Customs Administration
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in a similar role
  • Operational knowledge of airfreight, sea freight, or road freight preferred
  • Experience designing and delivering training programs
  • Expertise in Cargowise and JSM/JIRA
  • Fluency in English (verbal and written)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Strong communication, presentation, organizational, and customer service skills
  • Ability to create effective training materials and assess training effectiveness
