About the Role
The Partnership Development Lead will be instrumental in expanding the reach and influence of our online publication, which operates across six major cities in Asia, focusing on lifestyle, business, travel, and more. This role combines business development with strategic partnership development, aimed at forging and nurturing relationships with PR firms, marketing companies, and other key stakeholders to drive brand growth and revenue.
Key Responsibilities
Partnership Strategy and Development:
- Identify and engage potential partners, including PR firms, marketing agencies, and relevant organizations across Asia. Develop and implement strategic partnership plans tailored to the unique needs and opportunities in each of the cities we operate in.
- Conduct thorough market research to uncover trends, opportunities, and key players in the lifestyle, business, and travel sectors within these cities.
Lead Generation and Business Development:
- Proactively generate leads for new partnership opportunities, leveraging industry networks and market insights.
- Develop and refine lead generation strategies, utilizing digital tools and platforms to identify potential partners.
- Engage in business development activities to secure new partnerships that align with the publication's strategic goals.
- If weekly KPI targets are not met by other departments, be responsible as part of Business Development to source the remaining leads & fulfill weekly deliverables.
- Reach out to potential partners from featured businesses and listicles routinely.
Relationship Management:
- Establish and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with key partners across Asia.
- Act as the primary liaison between the publication and its partners, ensuring clear communication and alignment of goals.
- Regularly engage with partners to assess their needs and explore new opportunities for collaboration.
Collaboration and Coordination:
- Work closely with internal teams, including marketing, editorial, and sales, to integrate partnership initiatives into the publication's broader strategy.
- Coordinate joint marketing campaigns, events, and other collaborative efforts with partners, ensuring maximum impact.
- Facilitate cross-functional collaboration to ensure that partnership activities are well-supported and effectively executed.
Negotiation and Agreement Management:
- Lead negotiations with partners to establish mutually beneficial agreements.
- Manage the execution of partnership agreements, ensuring all parties fulfill their commitments and objectives.
Proficiency in Tools and Processes:
- Utilize CRM to manage partnership pipelines, track leads, and monitor progress through the sales cycle.
- Ensure accurate and up-to-date records of all partnership activities in the CRM system.
- Create compelling presentations and proposals that effectively communicate the value of partnering with our publication.
- Efficiently book and manage meetings with potential and existing partners, ensuring a professional and organized approach to partnership development.
Performance Tracking and Reporting:
- Track and analyze key performance metrics related to partnerships and business development.
- Provide regular reports and updates to senior management on the status and impact of partnership activities.
- Use data-driven insights to continuously refine and improve partnership strategies.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, communications, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in business development, partnership management, or a similar role, preferably in the media or publishing industry.
- Proven track record of developing and managing successful partnerships in the lifestyle, business, and travel sectors.
- Strong experience in lead generation and using CRM tools like Pipedrive to manage pipelines and track progress.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.
- Ability to work across multiple cities and cultures in Asia, with an understanding of local markets and business practices.
- Self-motivated with a results-driven approach.
- Proficiency in creating professional presentations and managing meeting schedules.
