As part of our continued growth in Asia, we are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Project Manager to join our construction management team in Singapore.
This position is part of our consultancy management services team that supports COVA's projects across Southeast Asia. The role is crucial in ensuring efficient and accurate project management and administration.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Planning and Execution
Develop and implement Project Management Plans and Site Management Plans, and update them as required.
Lead and manage construction project activities throughout all phases, ensuring compliance with scope, time, quality, and cost objectives.
Establish project teams, assign tasks, and ensure the timely delivery of all outputs and verifications.
Coordinate all project inputs and communications between project stakeholders, including Commercial and Delivery Managers.
Ensure timely and on-budget delivery of the project as agreed during the initiation stage.
2. Construction Monitoring and Quality Assurance
Monitor construction progress for conformance to specifications, quality standards, and technical requirements.
Review and validate Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) and method statements to ensure they meet contract and safety requirements.
Ensure all site works comply with design specifications, performance standards, and approved quality control procedures.
Assist in the verification and acceptance of completed works on behalf of the client.
3. Risk, Safety, and Compliance
Implement and maintain Work Health and Safety (WHS), environmental, and risk management programs in line with company policy and regulatory requirements.
Conduct regular qualitative risk assessments and reviews, identifying potential issues and opportunities.
Report and manage any non-conformances related to safety, environment, or work practices on site.
4. Project Leadership and Stakeholder Management
Act as Project Leader for small to medium-sized projects, accountable for overall delivery and profitability.
Form and coordinate project teams, assign tasks and budget hours, and oversee day-to-day communication and collaboration among team members.
Provide leadership and mentoring to the project team, promoting high performance and professional development.
Identify, engage, and consult with stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
Chair regular project control meetings and document discussions, actions, and decisions.
Support final project delivery through defect management and administrative closure.
5. Contract Administration and Financial Support
Support the client with contract administration, including valuations, variation assessments, and monthly reporting.
Assist in preparing monthly cost reports and contribute to closing out final accounts.
Provide commercial input and reporting to Commercial Managers as required.
6. Reporting and Documentation
Prepare regular project status reports covering safety, schedule, quality, and risk matters.
Establish reporting protocols aligned with both COVA's Integrated Management System (IMS) and client systems.
Maintain accurate records of project progress, risk events, and decisions.
Conduct risk assessments and manage project documentation to support safety, quality, and performance objectives throughout the project lifecycle.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Project Management or Engineering
Minimum 6 years experience in construction industry
Formal project management accreditation i.e. Diploma, PMP, or equivalent
Membership to a relevant peak body (eg: Australian Institute of Project Management)
Risk Management qualification or experience
High-level proficiency of Primavera P6, MS Project, and Microsoft Office platforms
Excellent writing and strong communication skills with attention to detail and organisational skills
Ability to manage multiple tasks to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment and to work effectively in a team environment.
