I. Administrative
Serves as conduit in cascading Occupational Safety and Health Standards (OSH)
Develops and manages a team to achieve the section's objectives and ultimately support CSMO's and the university's over-all goals and initiatives.
Ensures contractors' and service providers' compliance with OSH standards.
Regularly reviews and updates OSH guidelines and policies.
Ensures submission of DOLE mandatory reports and requirements
II. Strategic
Assesses campus occupational safety and health risks within the context of Loyola Heights and all immediate barangays around Loyola Heights.
Maintains awareness of the environment, new trends, and new standards as far as campus safety and health is concerned.
Ensures annual performance audit as one of the benchmarks for the succeeding year's goals.
Develops and cascades action plans to mitigate and strengthen awareness of the campus safety and health risks.
Develops, cascades, and gathers support on action plans to improve occupational safety and health within all Ateneo campuses and immediate vicinity.
Institutionalizes standard response to new forms of emergencies within the campus.
Sets and pursues achievement of key results areas (KRA) for the section and each individual member of the unit to support the section's mandates.
Regularly benchmarks performance of his team versus regional and/or global best practices on occupational safety and health, and versus best practices of other industries.
Regularly reviews, updates, and/or drafts new policies related to campus safety and health.
III. Operations
Develops and cascades the section's operating plans to support the section's mandates.
Sets, imposes, and ensures compliance to detailed performance metrics to the services provided by the unit.
Ensures awareness of his team's requirements and support needed to deliver expectations and exerts best effort to provide them.
Leads in coordinating with various units, for regular services that should be provided by the section.
Leads in collaboration and/or cooperation with various units for any initiatives requiring the section's expertise.
Oversees the section and the campus' daily operations and provides guidance on any concern related to OSH.
Leads in assessing the section's performance by getting feedback from units served.
Leads in the implementation of the Occupational Safety and Health standards.
Manages the budget and resources allocated for the section.
Establishes and institutionalizes a process that will continually review the section's systems and processes for efficient spending.
IV. Performs other duties as may be required from the position, in accordance with the instructions of the Director.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Data and Information Analysis – analyzing data and information as input for the formulation of strategic plans, monitoring progress towards goals, and calibrating programs.
Occupational Safety and Health Standards – implementing traditional and non-traditional, albeit upto-date safeguards and processes to ensure occupational safety and health.
Change Management – managing resistance to change by involving and engaging key stakeholders in the process of change.
Networking and Relationship Management – establishing, developing, and maintaining productive relationships with partners and other stakeholders over time.
Communications and Media – knowledge in communication, and dissemination techniques and methods.
Bachelor's degree
Experience in an academic setting is an advantage
Safety Officer 3, DOLE accredited Safety Officer is an advantage
