Job Summary:
The Building Maintenance Head is responsible for overseeing the upkeep, repair, and proper functioning of the company's building facilities and equipment. This role ensures that all maintenance operations are carried out efficiently, safely, and in compliance with company policies and government regulations. The position requires strong leadership skills to supervise maintenance staff and coordinate with contractors or service providers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, supervise, and coordinate all building maintenance activities including electrical, plumbing, carpentry, HVAC, and general repairs.

  • Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules to ensure continuous and efficient operation of building facilities.

  • Inspect buildings, equipment, and systems regularly to identify issues and recommend corrective measures.

  • Lead and manage the maintenance team, assigning tasks and monitoring performance.

  • Coordinate with external contractors and suppliers for specialized maintenance or repair work.

  • Ensure compliance with safety standards, fire codes, and environmental regulations.

  • Manage the maintenance budget, monitor expenses, and source cost-effective solutions.

  • Maintain records of maintenance activities, repairs, and equipment inventory.

  • Respond promptly to emergency maintenance requests.

  • Support facility improvement projects and renovations as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, or related field (preferred).

  • Proven experience in building/facilities maintenance, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role.

  • Strong knowledge of electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.

  • Ability to read technical manuals, blueprints, and maintenance instructions.

  • Excellent problem-solving, leadership, and organizational skills.

  • Strong communication skills and ability to coordinate with various stakeholders.

  • Knowledge of workplace safety standards and government regulations.
