Position Summary

Operations Head will oversee the overall operational performance of the company, ensuring that projects are executed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This role requires strong leadership, problem-solving, and coordination skills to effectively manage engineering, warehouse, purchasing, motorpool, HR, and field operations.

Key Responsibilities

Project Supervision & Quality Control

  • Provide direct oversight of all ongoing projects to ensure compliance with company standards, client requirements, and safety regulations.

  • Conduct regular site visits to check quality of work, progress, and adherence to schedules.

  • Resolve project-related concerns and bottlenecks in coordination with project engineers and site managers.

Resource & Warehouse Management

  • Supervise the monitoring and safekeeping of construction tools, equipment, and materials in the site warehouse.

  • Ensure proper inventory control, accountability, and preventive maintenance of company assets.

  • Implement efficient systems for tracking usage, minimizing losses, and extending asset life.

Procurement & Logistics Coordination

  • Coordinate with the purchasing team on the timely sourcing and delivery of materials.

  • Verify quantities and specifications of purchased items to align with project needs.

  • Oversee the dispatching and scheduling of company deliveries, heavy equipment, and transport requirements to avoid delays.

Motorpool & Equipment Operations

  • Supervise the motorpool team to ensure availability, efficiency, and proper maintenance of vehicles and heavy equipment.

  • Monitor fuel, repairs, and utilization to optimize costs.

  • Coordinate equipment allocation across projects based on demand and urgency.

Interdepartmental Troubleshooting & Support

  • Act as the escalation point for operational issues involving engineers, purchasing, HR, warehouse, or motorpool.

  • Provide quick, practical solutions to ensure smooth operations and project continuity.

  • Lead coordination meetings with department heads to align priorities and resolve conflicts.

Leadership & Team Development

  • Mentor and guide project engineers, warehouse staff, and operations team leaders.

  • Promote a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement.

  • Ensure compliance with labor, safety, and environmental regulations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field

  • Minimum 10+ years of progressive experience in construction operations, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.

  • Strong knowledge of construction processes, materials, logistics, and heavy equipment operations.

  • Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills.

  • Problem-solving ability with a hands-on approach to operations.

Performance Metrics (KPIs)

  • On-time and on-budget project delivery.

  • Quality compliance with minimal rework/defects.

  • Efficiency in procurement, warehouse, and equipment utilization.

  • Reduction of operational delays and downtime.

  • Employee and department performance improvements.
