In general, the Environmental Supervisor - EMS's duty is to be responsible for overseeing the development, implementation, and maintenance of a company-wide Environmental Management System (EMS) that meets ISO 14001 certification standards.

Specifically, he/she shall be responsible for the following:

  1. Develop policies, guidelines and procedures for the effective and efficient implementation of the EMS system providing training, guidance and other required support to internal teams to ensure compliance.
  2. Assessment, analysis and consolidation of environmental performance data and translating this into reports that can be shared to management, internal staff, clients and regulatory bodies.
  3. Assist in the development and implementation of environmental frameworks, policies and practices as well as strategies to meet environmental performance targets and to encourage best practice.
  4. Lead the conduct of periodic internal EMS audits utilizing appropriate tools and systems to monitor environmental performance of various teams across the organization and work sites.
  5. Extend support where needed to prepare various project teams for external audits.
  6. Keeps up-to-date knowledge of the EMS, environmental laws and relevant information.
  7. Ensures that all relevant documents, registers, and records are maintained and backed-up.
  8. Perform other duties as may be required by the position manager.
  9. Coordinates later on with a third-party service provider to check on the acceptability of developed ISO registers.

Employment duties shall be rendered at the central office in Taguig and at such other place or places as the COMPANY shall in good faith require or as the interest, need, business, or opportunity of the COMPANY shall require.

Qualifications:
  1. Degree in environmental science, environmental engineering, or related field.
  2. At least 5 years of practical experience in handling EMS preferably in a mining sector context.
  3. Knowledge of environmental regulations and guidelines applicable to the mining industry.
  4. Experience in the development and/or implementation of EMS in accordance with the ISO-14001 Standards.

Requirements:

  1. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  2. Strong interpersonal skills.
  3. Ability to multitask and adhere to deadlines.
  4. Demonstrated organization and prioritization skills.
