The Major Incident Manager is responsible for managing and coordinating the response to major incidents that significantly impact the business operations of the insurance company. This role ensures that incidents are resolved efficiently and effectively, minimizing downtime and disruption. The Major Incident Manager will work closely with various teams to identify root causes, implement corrective actions, and improve incident management processes.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Incident Management:
    • Lead the response to major incidents, ensuring timely resolution and communication.
    • Coordinate with technical teams, business units, and external vendors to resolve incidents.
    • Conduct post-incident reviews to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
  2. Communication:
    • Serve as the primary point of contact for major incidents, providing regular updates to stakeholders.
    • Prepare and distribute incident reports to senior management and other relevant parties.
    • Facilitate communication between technical teams and business units during incidents.
  3. Process Improvement:
    • Develop and maintain incident management processes and procedures.
    • Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices.
    • Conduct training sessions for staff on incident management protocols.
  4. Monitoring and Reporting:
    • Monitor incident trends and analyze data to identify patterns and areas for improvement.
    • Generate regular reports on incident metrics and performance.
    • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.

Qualification/Skill RequirementsMandatory Skills
  • Bachelor's degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 3 + years of experience in incident management or a related role.
  • Strong knowledge of ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library) framework.
  • Experience with incident management tools and software.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
Additional Skills
  • Certification in ITIL or other relevant frameworks.
  • Experience in the IT industry or a similar regulated environment.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity principles and practices.
  • Familiarity with cloud computing and related technologies.
  • Strong project management skills.
