Position: Credit Manager of Risk Control Department
Location: Manila, PH

Scope of Role:

As the middle office of the Branch's credit business, the Credit Manager is responsible for assessing credit proposals, preparing and submitting credit assessment reports, and monitoring and managing credit risk. The role ensures that the conduct of the Branch's credit business is within the letter and requirements of the Head Office and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Report to the Head or Deputy Head of Risk Control Department;
  2. Assess the credit proposals from the front office;
  3. Analyze macroeconomics, economic activity, and the creditworthiness of the Bank's clients, including relevant industry and financial conditions of borrowers, analyzing risk factors and preparing mitigating suggestions;
  4. Conduct project financing assessments;
  5. Prepare and submit credit assessment reports to the Credit Committee, establishing and adjusting limits and/or preconditions for credit deals based on the results of monitoring and analysis of the financial situation and information;
  6. Review credit limits and internal ratings;
  7. Regularly review the credit policy of the bank;
  8. Skilled in operating credit-related systems;
  9. Other tasks assigned by the Head or Deputy Head of Risk Control Department.

Qualifications and Skills:

  1. BS/MS degree in finance, economics, or other related fields.
  2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in corporate loan assessment and analysis in the corporate banking and commercial banking sectors, preferably at top 10 banks.
  3. Professional knowledge and skills including:
    1. Possession of professional methods of financial and economic analysis of corporate activities;
    2. Knowledge of accounting standards (IFRS);
    3. Ability in macroeconomics analysis and industry analysis;
    4. Familiarity with energy, real estate, power, mining, and infrastructure industries, capable of writing industry analysis reports and project loan assessment reports;
    5. Capable of writing comprehensive and in-depth credit assessment reports;
    6. Familiarity with credit risk management requirements of BSP.
