About the role

We are seeking a technically skilled and highly accountable Application & Database Support Officer to support the smooth operation of our enterprise policy administration system (PAS). This role is responsible for system configuration, database performance management, and application-level troubleshooting, with a strong focus on ensuring data accuracy and operational continuity.

A key part of the role involves active coordination with external system vendors to resolve technical issues, deploy system updates, and support platform improvements. The ideal candidate will also collaborate closely with internal stakeholders—including business & operations team, IT operations, compliance, and project managers—to ensure system reliability, timely issue resolution, and effective communication across teams.

What you'll do
  • Perform configuration tasks such as user access setup, system parameters, and product updates
  • Provide Level 2/3 support for system issues, coordinating with internal teams for analysis and resolution
  • Maintain and document standard operating procedures and configuration guides
  • Apply patches and updates to the core PAS platform in coordination with infra and vendor teams
  • Monitor and maintain PAS-related databases to ensure optimal performance, stability, and availability
  • Execute regular database tuning, indexing, backups, and restoration activities across environments (e.g., UAT, PROD)
  • Develop and manage SQL scripts for data validation, clean-up, or system automation
  • Participate in structured data activities including data analysis, mapping, extraction, and validation
  • Collaborate with business and technical teams to ensure data integrity and consistency across the PAS environment
  • Document data flows, dependencies, and traceability as part of internal controls and operational governance
  • Work closely with system vendors, internal teams, and other partners to resolve issues and ensure continuous improvement
  • Support internal audit and compliance requirements related to system access, data accuracy, and operational controls
  • Coordinate with infrastructure, cybersecurity, and support teams for change management and system updates
What you need to have
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
  • At least 4–6 years of experience in enterprise system support and database administration
  • Experience working with PAS, ERP, or other core business platforms preferred
  • Strong proficiency in SQL and relational databases (MS SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Oracle)
  • Experience with system patching, monitoring tools, and data restoration
  • Familiarity with structured incident resolution workflows (e.g., ITIL)
  • Understanding of access control principles, audit logging, and compliance policies
  • Experience in the insurance or financial services industry is an advantage
  • Exposure to platform upgrades or data migration initiatives
  • Familiarity with scripting automation or reporting tools
  • Strong sense of accountability and problem ownership
  • Clear communicator who can interface across business, tech, and vendor teams
  • Organized and documentation-oriented, with a bias for structure and transparency
  • Comfortable working under pressure with multiple system dependencies
