This role reports directly to the Chief Operating Officer (COO) and collaborates closely with various departments within the organization.
Job Summary:
The Senior Culinary Trainer & Assessor will be responsible for the effective delivery of culinary programs, encompassing both theoretical lectures and hands-on practical training. This includes developing and delivering curriculum, conducting assessments, and providing constructive feedback to students. The role also involves collaborating with other departments to ensure smooth operations and contributing to the growth and success of the culinary program, particularly in the establishment of our Cebu branch.
Key Responsibilities:
Training & Instruction:
- Develop and deliver engaging and informative culinary training programs, including lectures, demonstrations, and practical kitchen sessions.
- Create a positive and supportive learning environment that fosters student growth and development.
- Utilize a variety of teaching methodologies to cater to different learning styles.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, techniques, and best practices.
- Manage and maintain kitchen equipment and resources.
Assessment & Evaluation:
- Conduct assessments of student competency in accordance with relevant training package requirements and organizational standards.
- Provide constructive feedback to students on their performance.
- Maintain accurate records of student assessments and progress.
- Ensure the assessment process is fair, valid, and reliable.
- Contribute to the development and review of culinary curriculum to ensure its relevance and effectiveness.
- Research and incorporate new culinary techniques and trends into the curriculum.
- Collaborate with industry professionals to ensure curriculum aligns with current industry demands.
- Work closely with the COO, Sales, Operations, and Finance departments to ensure smooth program delivery and efficient resource management.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to the overall development of the culinary program.
- Communicate effectively with students, colleagues, and stakeholders.
Cebu Branch Development:
- Play a key role in the development and implementation of training programs for the new Cebu branch.
- Assist in the recruitment and training of culinary instructors for the Cebu branch.
- Contribute to the setup and equipping of the Cebu branch kitchens and training facilities.
Other Duties:
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the COO.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Proven experience as a Culinary Trainer and Assessor in a recognized culinary institution or professional kitchen environment.
- Possess a relevant culinary qualification (e.g., Diploma or Advanced Diploma in Culinary Arts).
- Hold a current and valid Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116 or its equivalent).
- Extensive practical experience in various culinary techniques and cuisines.
- Strong knowledge of food safety and hygiene regulations.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Experience in curriculum development and assessment design.
- Experience in establishing or working with a new branch or training facility is highly desirable.
- Experience in the hospitality industry is a significant advantage.
- Passion for culinary arts and a commitment to student success.
