About the Role

As a Senior Bookkeeper, you will lead onboarding and cleanup projects, mentor the Junior Bookkeeper, and own SOP upkeep—ensuring that financial operations remain robust and reliable. You will also be responsible for ensuring deadlines are met including month end close.

Responsibilities
  • Review and ensure the quality of Junior Bookkeeper outputs.
  • Lead AP and AR processes: invoice prep, approval flows, reconciliation.
  • Manage onboarding and cleanup workflows for new client accounts.
  • Maintain and enhance SOPs, checklists, and process documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with US GAAP and internal standards.
  • Train and coach Junior Bookkeepers, serving as escalation contact.
  • Effectively manage multiple clients and meet all deadlines for month end close
  • Execute onboarding plans collaboratively with the Pod Lead.
  • Communicate proficiently via email and Slack using alias accounts.
Competencies and Qualifications
  • Minimum 5 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience.
  • Deep understanding of US GAAP, full-cycle bookkeeping, and financial cleanup.
  • Experience with QuickBooks, Xero, or similar platforms.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and process adherence.
  • Strong leadership capability and mentoring experience.
  • Track record of creating or refining SOPs and efficient workflows.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and written communication skills.
