Overview

The Accounting and Tax Compliance Specialist will be an integral part of our finance team, ensuring accurate record-keeping, timely reporting, and strict adherence to local tax regulations. This position will support the transition of accounting processes in-house and provide expertise in compliance matters.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • CPA certification (or equivalent) is an advantage

Experience:

  • Minimum 3-5 years of bookkeeping and tax compliance experience.
  • Expertise with local tax regulations and compliance.
  • Experience in the preparation filing and reporting of tax returns and other reportorial requirements.

Skills:

  • Proficient in accounting software Xero (or QuickBooks, SAP, and others is an advantage).
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Other requirements:

  • Attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines and prioritize tasks effectively.

Qualifications & Primary Job Descriptions:

Bookkeeping Duties:

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records.
  • Bank reconciliation, reconcile accounts on ledger and sub-ledger.
  • Monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting.

Tax Compliance:

  • Ensure compliance with all tax regulations and requirements.
  • Prepare and file timely tax returns and supplementary reportorial requirements.
  • Liaise with tax authorities as necessary.
  • Monitor changes in tax laws and advise management on their implications.

Reporting and support:

  • Assist in internal and external audits.
  • Provide financial data and reports to support decision-making.
  • Assist with the transition of accounting processes from third-party partners to the in-house team.
  • Support the implementation and optimization of new accounting systems or tools.
  • Participate in cross-functional projects requiring financial data and reports.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Financial Controller or Senior management.
