Overview

The Tax Compliance and Payroll Specialist will be an integral part of our finance team, ensuring accurate record-keeping, timely reporting, and strict adherence to local tax regulations. This position will support the transition of accounting processes in-house and provide expertise in compliance matters.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Bookkeeping Duties:

  • Prepares payroll, taxes, and government-related journal entries.
  • Assist in providing payroll and taxes. and government accounts against bank payouts.

Tax and Government Contributions Compliance:

  • Ensure compliance with all tax regulations and requirements.
  • Prepare and file timely tax returns and supplementary reportorial requirements.
  • Liaise with tax authorities as necessary.
  • Monitor changes in tax laws and advise management on their implications.

Reporting and support:

  • Assist in internal and external audits.
  • Provide financial data and reports to support decision-making.
  • Support the implementation and optimization of new accounting systems or tools.
  • Participate in cross-functional projects requiring financial data and reports.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Financial Controller or Senior management.

Payroll:

  • Payroll Processing: Accurately prepare and processes company payroll on a regular schedule (weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly), ensuring compliance with company policies and government regulations.
  • Employee Records Management: Maintain and update employee payroll records, including nwe hires, terminations, salary adjustments, benefits, and deductions.
  • Compliance: Ensure adherence to labor laws, tax regulations, government-mandated benefits, and reporting requirements.
  • Payroll Reconciliation: Reconcile payroll data with accounting records and prepare necessary reports for Finance and HR Departments.
  • Coordination with HR Department: Coordination and confirmation of cut-off, attendance prior to payroll calculation and resolve discrepancies prior to finalization of the payroll and submission for approval.
  • Tax and Government Contributions Filing and Reporting: Prepare and submit payroll-related tax filings, government contributions (eg. SSS, PhilHealthm PAG-IBIG), and year-end repoorts.

Skillset:

  • Minimum 3-4 years of bookkeeping, payroll process and tax compliance experience.
  • Expertise with local tax regulations and compliance.
  • Experience in the preparation filing and reporting of tax returns and other reportorial requirements.
  • Proficient in accountin software Xero (or QuickBooks, SAP, and others is an advantage)
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
