Patient Financial Account Representative - Healthcare
Job DescriptionThe Nerve Bone & Joint Institute is looking for a Full-time Patient Financial Account Representative to join our growing entrepreneurial healthcare team specializing in advanced treatments in neurosurgery, hand surgery, and peripheral nerve surgery. The Patient Financial Account Representative offers financial advice and assistance to patients regarding medical bills. They are the liaison between patients and their insurance companies, often coordinating payments and answering questions from both parties. Their job is to handle financial obligations so that patients and physicians can focus on healthcare.
Responsibilities of a Patient Financial Account Representative include:
- Communicate with patients and insurance companies (e.g., Medicare, Medicaid, Carefirst, Aetna, Cigna, work comp) on the phone.
- Appropriately document and report payment information.
- Educate patients about payment options and financial assistance.
- Negotiate and strategize patient payment arrangements.
- Update patient accounts and balances.
- Review and process patient and insurance company forms.
- Obtain necessary authorizations and eligibility when necessary.
- Create payment plans and Good Faith Estimates.
- Diligent follow-up on patient accounts.
- Ability to cross-train and assist other members of the team.
- Strong teamwork skills and problem-solving skills.
- Overcommunicate work performed and report productivity.
The Patient Financial Account Representative may also secure grants or financial aid for those in need of additional financial assistance or explore discount drug options. The Patient Financial Account Representative must be comfortable with out-of-network billing processes.
Qualifications for a Patient Financial Account Representative:
- Associate or bachelor degree from an accredited university is preferred.
- Medical office experience of at least 3 years is the best asset.
- Must be able to communicate effectively with patients, families, doctors, and insurance providers.
- Strong customer service skills are required.
Job Type: Full-time
Salary range: $380,000.00 - 480,000.00 Philippine Peso
Expected hours: 40 – 45 per week, Monday to Friday.
Supplemental pay types:
- Bonus opportunities.
