About the role

As the Head Chef at Plus Eighty One Bar and Restaurant Corporation, you will be responsible for leading and managing the kitchen operations, overseeing the creation of innovative and delicious menu items, and ensuring the highest standards of food quality and presentation. This full-time role is based in Makati City, Metro Manila and is integral to the success of this dynamic hospitality business.

What you'll be doing

  1. Develop and implement creative and seasonally inspired menus that showcase your culinary expertise
  2. Manage and mentor a team of talented chefs, cooks and kitchen staff to deliver exceptional dishes with efficiency and precision
  3. Oversee all aspects of kitchen operations, including food ordering, inventory management, and adherence to health and safety regulations
  4. Collaborate with the restaurant management team to ensure menu items align with the brand's vision and customer preferences
  5. Foster a positive and productive work environment in the kitchen, promoting a culture of continuous improvement
  6. Monitor food costs and wastage, optimising kitchen processes to maximise profitability
  7. Advocate for and implement sustainable sourcing and preparation practices

What we're looking for

  1. Minimum 5 years of experience as a Head Chef or in a senior culinary leadership role in the hospitality industry
  2. Proven track record of developing innovative and commercially successful menus
  3. Excellent kitchen management skills, including the ability to lead and motivate a team
  4. Strong working knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in food preparation and hygiene
  5. Passion for using high-quality, fresh ingredients and a commitment to sustainable food sourcing
  6. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment and work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
  7. Formal culinary training or a relevant degree in Culinary Arts or Hospitality Management
