Job Description

The responsibilities of the Senior Business Analyst are:

  • Translate business requirements into clear and actionable Finance user requirements.
  • Act as the point of contact for complex front-to-end initiatives.
  • Coordinate and facilitate activities across squads, tribes, and program levels.
  • Support the product owner and squad by managing the backlog, translating epics into features, and refining them into user stories.
  • Perform detailed information and data analysis, including input/output validation, quality checks, and solutions to improve data accuracy.
  • Implement and maintain controls to ensure compliance with minimum accounting standards.
  • Support strategic initiatives by executing functional, acceptance, and migration testing to ensure timely delivery.
  • Collaborate closely with IT to translate solution designs into effective system implementations.
  • Provide second-line functional support, including daily monitoring of financial and product accounting, reconciliations, reporting, and ledger accuracy.
  • Take on a leadership role by guiding team members, driving initiatives forward, and fostering collaboration across multidisciplinary groups.
The Successful Applicant

A successful Senior Business Analyst should have:

  • Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business IT, or Economics, with a strong academic background.
  • Expertise in the financial industry, including knowledge of Wholesale Banking product accounting and Financial Markets products.
  • Strong understanding of banking processes, accounting concepts, and preferably hedge accounting.
  • Proficiency with SQL, impact analyses, functional design, and testing (functional, acceptance, and migration).
  • Familiarity with FM/GT systems such as Murex, Summit, Sophis, or Calypso is an advantage.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with affinity for IT, process improvement, and innovation.
  • Excellent communication skills in English, able to engage effectively with international stakeholders.
  • Proactive, collaborative, and adaptable team player with the ability to work independently and in Agile environments.
