Job Summary

  • The Senior Business Analyst is a strategic partner in defining and delivering business value through technology and process improvements. This role leads high-impact initiatives, translates complex business needs into actionable requirements, and guides cross-functional teams in delivering innovative solutions. The Senior Business Analyst also mentors junior analysts, drives continuous improvement, and ensures alignment between business goals and IT capabilities.

Roles and Responsibilities

Enterprise Alignment & Strategic Enablement

  • Serve as a key advisor to business and IT leadership, ensuring that analysis efforts are tightly aligned with organizational strategy and priorities.
  • Translate enterprise goals into actionable roadmaps and solution opportunities across business units.

Advanced Requirements Management

  • Lead complex requirements elicitation and analysis sessions involving multiple stakeholder groups.
  • Translate business vision into end-to-end solution requirements (functional, non-functional, regulatory), ensuring clarity, traceability, and alignment with enterprise architecture.
  • Prioritize features and initiatives based on business value, risk, and technical feasibility.

Solution Design & Validation

  • Collaborate with Product Owners, Architects, and Developers to co-design scalable and compliant business solutions.
  • Validate solution designs against requirements and drive testing and acceptance efforts.

Business Process Optimization

  • Analyze current state processes and identify improvement opportunities through root cause analysis, process mapping, and benchmarking.
  • Recommend and implement process re-engineering or automation to improve business efficiency and customer experience.

Leadership & Mentorship

  • Provide guidance, mentorship, and quality assurance to Junior Business Analysts.
  • Lead communities of practice and promote best practices in business analysis across teams.

Cross-Functional Facilitation

  • Act as a bridge between business, IT, compliance, and operations stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Facilitate strategic workshops, JAD sessions, and executive-level reporting to ensure alignment and transparency.

Tools, Documentation & Governance

  • Ensure high-quality documentation (Business Requirements Document, Functional Specifications, User Stories, etc.) using standard tools (e.g., JIRA, Confluence, BPMN).
  • Maintain compliance with documentation and governance policies for audit readiness and traceability.

Requirements Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Master's degree or MBA is preferred.

Certifications (Preferred but not required)

  • CBAP, PMI-PBA, Lean Six Sigma, Agile BA, or similar credentials.

Experience

  • Minimum of 3+ years of experience in business analysis, preferably in IT or digital transformation projects.
  • Proven experience in leading large-scale initiatives, process reengineering, and working in Agile or hybrid environments.
  • Strong experience in managing executive stakeholders and facilitating change.

Skills and Competencies

  • Strategic and critical thinking with strong business acumen.
  • Advanced facilitation, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Expert in business analysis tools and methodologies (e.g., BPMN, SWOT, Use Case Modeling).
  • Strong leadership, mentorship, and project coordination abilities.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage competing priorities.
