Role Description
This is a contract role for a Product Owner. The Product Owner will be responsible for creating the product roadmap and defining the strategic vision for their team based on the organization's vision. They should have a deep understanding of the insurance industry, an interest in technology, and be able to advocate for user needs. The Product Owner will manage dependencies with other teams while identifying, building, and managing strategic partnerships with various stakeholders. They will work closely with their team to translate user feedback into new developments. The Product Owner will also be accountable for specific business OKRs based on the team's mission.
Responsibilities
- Set ambitious and clear product vision and communicate it effectively to stakeholders, the team, and the organization
- Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure digital vision and products align with team strategy and requirements
- Work with Head of Product to establish each product's business value, and support messaging, communication and client outreach as necessary
- Prioritize and manage items in the backlog and maintain a backlog 3 to 4 sprints ahead of the team
- Utilize market and industry knowledge to translate user needs into user stories and acceptance criteria
- Determine end-to-end team output strategy from inception to production
- Facilitate release planning with stakeholders and weekly demos
- Incorporate usability studies and research into product requirements to enhance user satisfaction
- Be accountable for product-specific OKRs and communicate progress to stakeholders
Qualifications
Domain Expertise
- Proven knowledge of the insurance space, ideally 5+ years in the industry with experience designing insurance products and channels
- Extensive knowledge in Stakeholder Management
- Knowledge of technology or ability to learn about technology and digital products; experience with technical products is a plus
- Strong collaboration with cross-functional teams from technology, design, business, and operations
- Agile experience; facilitation of Agile ceremonies, backlog and release planning, and tracking team metrics

- Ability to manage and lead the team to push the solution forward
- Strong communication skills with comfort speaking with business stakeholders and influencing others
- Ability to navigate the organization at a senior level and make decisions for the team
