Job summary A Technical Assistant will provide both technical and administrative support to our team. Key responsibilities Provide technical support: Assist technicians and engineers with equipment setup, maintenance, and troubleshooting. Handle user inquiries: Act as the first point of contact for technical questions from team members or clients, resolving simple issues or escalating complex problems to senior staff. Manage technical documentation: Create, organize, and maintain technical reports, user manuals, project plans, and other related documents. Coordinate projects: Help manage project timelines, allocate resources, and communicate between technical and non-technical stakeholders. Perform administrative duties: Handle general office tasks, including scheduling meetings, managing correspondence, and maintaining organized records. Assist with system and software management: Help with software installations, configurations, and upgrades, and potentially manage IT inventory and ticketing systems. Support system maintenance: Perform routine maintenance tasks, including system updates, data backups, and monitoring system performance. Assist with training: Help facilitate training sessions on new technical tools and procedures for team members and end-users. Qualifications Education: A high school diploma or GED is often sufficient, though an associate's or bachelor's degree in a relevant technical field (e.g., Computer Science, IT, Engineering) is often preferred. Experience: Previous experience in a technical support or administrative role is beneficial. Required skills and competencies Technical expertise: A basic understanding of computer hardware, software, and networking fundamentals is essential. Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills are necessary to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical individuals. Problem-solving: The ability to troubleshoot issues effectively and identify the root cause of a problem. Organizational skills: Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Software proficiency: A working knowledge of MS Office Suite and other productivity and database systems is required. Adaptability: A willingness to learn new technologies and adapt to evolving technical landscapes.
