Department: Stakeholder Relations & Permitting, Right‑Of‑Way Employment Type: Probationary Work Arrangement: Hybrid Outcomes Expected and Responsibilities Provides legal advice on legal, regulatory and compliance issues across various domains including energy, labor, safety, health, environment, permitting, land, and contracts. Conducts due diligence on land and other legal matters, as required. Coordinates with external counsel for legal and compliance matters. Builds partnerships and manages stakeholders regarding legal & compliance matters. Coordinates and implements compliance monitoring and audit strategies to ensure all permits, contracts and agreements are properly tracked and timely complied with for all ARI BUs. Conducts legal research and develops reference materials as needed. Drafts contracts, legal opinions, agreements and other legal documents. Stays current on relevant industry and government compliance programs related to renewable energy and provides updates about legislative changes that may trigger organizational response. Attends public consultations with external stakeholders to represent ARI interests. Represents ARI and ARI BUs in legal proceedings and negotiates with stakeholders on legal and compliance issues. Facilitates timely completion of compliance matters by coordinating with relevant internal teams for submissions. Manages coordination with identified legal and compliance stakeholders to maintain open communication. Ensures proper filing of legal documents, compliances and permits. Reports progress of all legal and compliance issues to team leaders. Coordinates with other departments for necessary information or assistance to ensure timely submission of all legal and compliance requirements. Manages legal and compliance team members to ensure efficiency and productivity. Performs other tasks as assigned by the team leader. Champions the organization’s culture, values and philosophy by executing and enacting company policies, safety rules, and procedures. Minimum Qualifications Must be a licensed lawyer. Must have at least 5–7 years of professional legal experience, including at least 5 years in established and reputable law firms. Must have at least 3–5 years of leadership experience in managing legal teams. Preferably with exposure to government agencies and energy industry stakeholders. Preferably with working knowledge of project management principles and energy regulatory frameworks. Preferably with a postgraduate diploma or master’s degree relevant to the field.
