• Provides legal advice on legal, regulatory and compliance issues, including energy, labor, safety, health and environment issues, regulatory, permitting, land, contracts
• Conducts due diligence on land and other legal matters
• Coordinates with external counsel for legal and compliance issues
• Builds partnerships with identified stakeholders regarding all legal & compliance issues
• Coordinates and implements strategies on compliance monitoring and audits to ensure that permits/contracts/agreements/compliance issues are properly tracked and timely complied with for all ARI BUs
• Conducts legal research and develops reference materials as needed
• Drafts contracts, legal opinions, agreements and other legal documents as needed
• Stays current on relevant industry and government compliance programs related to renewable energy and provides updates regarding changes in legislation, regulations and other requirements that may result in organizational response
• Attends public consultations with relevant external stakeholders to represent ARI interests
• Represents ARI and ARI BUs in legal proceedings, as required, and negotiates with identified stakeholders for legal and compliance issues
• Facilitates timely completion of compliance matters by coordinating with relevant internal teams for submissions
• Manages regular coordination with identified Legal and Compliance stakeholders to ensure open communication lines
• Ensures and implements proper filing of legal documents, compliances and permits
• Reports progress of all legal and compliance issues to team leaders
• Coordinates with other departments for the necessary information or assistance required for timely submission of all legal and compliance requirements
• Manages the Legal and Compliance team members to ensure efficiency and productivity
• Performs other tasks as may be assigned by the team leader

• Must be a licensed lawyer
• Must have at least 5–7 years of professional legal experience, including at least 5 years in established and reputable law firms
• Must have at least 3–5 years of leadership experience in managing legal teams
• Preferably with exposure to government agencies and energy industry stakeholders
• Preferably with working knowledge of project management principles and energy regulatory frameworks
• Preferably with a postgraduate diploma or master’s degree relevant to the field
