The Non-Food Category Manager is responsible for developing, managing, and executing category strategies that drive sales growth, profitability, and customer satisfaction across non-food product lines (e.g., household, personal care, electronics, home & living, or general merchandise). The role involves end-to-end category ownership — including assortment planning, vendor management, pricing, and promotional strategies. Key Responsibilities: 1. Category Strategy & Business Planning Develop and implement category plans aligned with company objectives and market trends. Define assortment strategies to ensure a balanced, customer-focused product mix. Identify new product opportunities, brand partnerships, and market expansion areas. 2. Product & Vendor Management Source, negotiate, and manage relationships with suppliers and brands to ensure competitive pricing and strong partnerships. Oversee product listings, onboarding, and vendor performance. Ensure supplier compliance with company standards for quality, packaging, and delivery. 3. Pricing & Promotion Management Develop pricing strategies that balance competitiveness and profitability. Plan and execute promotional campaigns, seasonal offers, and category activations with marketing and sales teams. Analyze ROI and effectiveness of marketing promotions and trade offers. 4. Inventory & Supply Chain Coordination Collaborate with supply chain and demand planning teams to maintain optimal stock levels. Monitor and minimize slow-moving or obsolete stock through effective inventory control and liquidation strategies. Ensure product availability and timely replenishment. 5. Performance Monitoring & Analysis Track and analyze category performance through KPIs such as sales, margins, inventory turnover, and ROI. Prepare monthly/quarterly category reports and recommend corrective actions. Utilize data analytics to drive strategic decision-making. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs): Category sales and margin growth Inventory turnover rate On-shelf availability and stock-out reduction Vendor performance and cost efficiency ROI on promotions and trade marketing investments Qualifications & Skills: Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Supply Chain, or a related field. MBA or postgraduate qualification preferred. Experience: 4–8 years of experience in category management, merchandising, or procurement — preferably in non-food segments such as personal care, household, home improvement, or consumer durables. Skills: Strong negotiation and analytical skills Deep understanding of consumer behavior and market trends in non-food categories Proficiency in Excel, Power BI, and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) Excellent communication, planning, and relationship management skills Strategic and commercial acumen #J-18808-Ljbffr
