The Role The Support Engineer role is a full-time remote permanent position located in the Philippines and is a remote working role. This role is a full-stack software engineering role, with a focus on issue resolution and timely support. This requires an adaptable, can-do approach, to be able to understand issues quickly, offer solutions, and collaborate with other devs and QA specialists to find solutions. Your key responsibilities Full Stack software engineering using React / Python / Django / MySQL. Design new system features and enhancements to improve product usability and productivity. Ensure all system development is within design and architecture guidelines. Contribute to the maintenance and continuous improvement of OpenSolar’s Design Tool and related systems. Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve software issues and bugs reported by users or internal teams, ensuring timely and high-quality fixes. Participate in on-call rotations and provide technical support during incidents, ensuring system uptime and reliability. Conduct root-cause analyses to prevent recurring issues and maintain adherence to design and architecture guidelines. Assist in estimating and planning technical tasks related to bug resolutions, minor enhancements, and maintenance projects. Proactively contribute to improving internal tools, monitoring, and support processes to streamline issue resolution and response time. Testing, deployment and release management of system updates. Demonstrate best practices in secure software development. Effectively work with senior software developers in a team environment. What you’ll need Core Technology skills required – Strong full stack software engineering skills. 5+ years of relevant experience in the core technology skills Best practice software development skills and practices. Excellent communication skills with an open, collaborative approach. A passion for problem solving and challenges. The desire to positively contribute to shaping organisation culture and be part of a diverse team. A good understanding of consumer finance, B2C payments and integrated e-commerce solutions is preferable.
