Global Network Operations - Specialist – Standard Chartered Join us as a Global Network Operations Specialist at Standard Chartered, a leading international bank that thrives on innovation and impact. Responsibilities Manage major network incidents and critical migrations effectively. Perform SME‑level troubleshooting for complex network issues, ensuring rapid recovery through technical solutions. Engage with external service providers, vendors, Advanced TAC, regional and global network teams, security teams, broader technology support teams, and management. Oversee Incident, Problem and Change Management for SCB Global Network Infrastructure. Lead high‑priority incident calls involving multi‑component and multi‑platform challenges, collaborating with peer infrastructure teams (OS Platforms, Middleware, Database, Application support). Conduct comprehensive root‑cause analysis and provide regular reporting on production issues to align with business and technology needs. Support system audits as required, ensuring all vulnerabilities are addressed and documented. Propose and manage end‑to‑end service improvement initiatives to mitigate risk and enhance stability. Maintain accurate, up‑to‑date information on network physical and logical inventory, diagrams, traffic flow, technical documentation and processes. Identify problematic areas and implement permanent solutions. Communicate with clients to provide expert guidance. Assist in the implementation of global projects, managing processes and documentation as needed. Offer technical direction for system migration and integration efforts. Meet and exceed defined service‑level metrics regarding timeliness and accuracy. Collaborate as part of a global team to manage operations across multiple shifts. Contribute to the formulation of short‑ and long‑term strategic goals for network improvement. Adhere to a rotating shift roster, including mornings, evenings, nights, weekends and public holidays. Qualifications Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in IT or Computer Science, with relevant professional certifications. 8–10 years of extensive, hands‑on experience in Network WAN/LAN, focusing on Security technology; operational experience in an ISP or RIM role within Banking/Financial Services is preferred. Demonstrated ability to manage expectations of diverse stakeholders. Subject‑Matter Expert (SME) level technical and analytical skills, strong root‑cause analysis and network performance optimisation. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, able to articulate ideas to engineers and senior management. Experience collaborating with cross‑border teams in Banking/Financial Services sectors. Strong time‑management and customer‑service focus. Proficiency in engaging and communicating with external clients and internal teams. Strong interpersonal skills and cultural awareness across diverse business contexts. Industry certifications, specifically CCNP or equivalent, are essential. Desired Skills Familiarity with Software‑Defined Infrastructure (Cisco ACI, VMware NSX). Experience with Switching/Routing (WAN & LAN) technologies, especially Cisco, VMware, Juniper. Knowledge of Security Platforms – FortiGate, VMware DFW, Juniper SRX, Cisco ASA firewalls. Proficiency in IP Services such as DNS, DHCP, IPAM and AAA platforms. Knowledge of security platforms like Akamai, Imperva, Zscaler. Experience with load‑balancing platforms such as F5, NGINX. Technical Competencies ACI DC Infrastructure – Cisco ACI Platform VMware NSX Switching/Routing (WAN & LAN) – Cisco and Juniper Security Platforms – Juniper SRX, Cisco ASA, VPN gateways SME‑level technical & analytical skills Firewall technologies Load‑balancer technologies (F5 & NGINX) IP Services like DNS, DHCP, IPAM, AAA platforms Time‑management and customer‑focus skills About Standard Chartered We’re an international bank, nimble enough to act, big enough for impact.
