Educational Background

  • Bachelor's degree in the relevant field

Professional Experience

  • 5–7 years of experience in communications, public affairs, or related roles
  • Roles like Communications Coordinator, PR Specialist, or Marketing Communications Manager are common stepping stones

Certifications (Bonus)

  • Accredited in Public Relations (APR) – PRSA
  • Certified Public Relations Specialist (CPRS)
  • Training in crisis communication, social media strategy, or media relations can give you an edge

Skills & Capabilities

  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Strategic thinking and campaign planning
  • Strong grasp of digital media and content creation
  • Leadership and project management
  • Ability to measure communication effectiveness using analytics, surveys, and media coverage reports
Media Relations

As Media Relations lead, responsibilities include developing and executing media strategies to boost brand visibility and reputation, building relationships with media outlets, and coordinating with internal teams. Responsibilities include:

  • Preparing articles, press kits, press releases, and other content for media engagement
  • Cultivating and managing relationships with media representatives and bloggers
  • Pitching press releases to targeted media outlets
  • Securing interviews for brands and executives
  • Distributing PR kits to media representatives and bloggers
  • Identifying media opportunities for earned and paid review programs
  • Coordinating media representatives during familiarization tours and events
  • Following up with journalists to ensure timely publication
  • Providing media relations consultancy and insights
  • Monitoring and clipping news coverage to evaluate impact

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Education: Degree in Business Studies, Marketing Management, or similar is advantageous
  • Experience: Open to all levels; established media relationships a plus; knowledge of public relations & digital marketing
  • Work Environment: Hybrid work setup

SKILLS

  • Proven track record in outreach campaign strategies
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills
  • Independent, proactive, self-motivated team player
  • Detail-oriented, organized, multitasking, deadline-driven
  • Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and similar tools
